I
completed my training course with the Bach
Centre in 2004 and am listed on their international register
of practitioners.
Previously
I worked as a medical doctor in England, and have many years'
experience in clinical practice, teaching and research. I developed
a special interest in the psychological aspects of cancer and
other physical illnesses. From 1991-2000 I held the post of Consultant
in Psychological Medicine and Director of Psycho-oncology at the
Churchill Hospital, Oxford, UK. Besides a number of academic publications,
I have several published books and am currently editing a new
one about the role of complementary therapies in cancer care.
Since
becoming interested in the holistic approach about ten years ago
I have studied various systems of complementary healthcare and
personal development, including energy healing, medical herbalism,
colour therapy and life coaching.
In
2000 I moved to New Zealand and now live in Devonport, Auckland,
with my husband and cats.
